I've opened all the places except C4, but I don't understand how to get there.

Welp, I'm stuck.  I've visited all but three rooms (a1, a2, c3) on the top three ranks (and none on the bottom two), but to be honest, I'm not even sure I understand what opens the doors--I would have thought "red boxes on the ovals with dots" would be it, but in the entrance, one is enough, unless the statue is in the wrong place, in which case...

I'm liking it, but I feel like I don't have enough information to move forward.

The next main progression point is e4. 

Hints for exiting d3 (downwards) in increasing order (rot13):

Sorry, good design but is clearly too complicated for me (D3 owl seems genuenly impossible without some *hiddent twist* on the obvious game mechanics...)

Orient_Tiger: yeah, I did that, but that's the right of the statue. :-)

LaptopCoder11: in fact, there wasn't anything in those hints I didn't know; the thing I needed was that I could in fact exit d3 downward (which I'd tried and failed).  OK, back at it.

...so I got to e4, and there are arrows there, but they don't tell me anything I didn't already know.  So now I can make it to c5, but that's definitely a dead end.

You can get to a2 (from a3) using the knowledge you currently have.

This is where it comes back around to not understanding the doors.  I tried something that worked (and that I hadn't particularly thought to try before), but...if it has to do with the non-circled dots being "covered" by the red boxes, why does the door open in a2 even when nothing is near the dot in the south?

Meanwhile, I've just yanked the owl statue from b2 into a2, which has also turned it invisible, which feels like it's going to make this game so much harder now.

Don't worry about the door condition for now - in most rooms placing the boxes on the unlit eye symbols will work. (The non-circled dot is a marker for where you reset to, maybe I should change that to something else to avoid confusion?)

a2 is supposed to hint at how to activate eye symbols, which then allows progress.
(what makes the top 2 different from the other 2, could you get the other ones into the same state?)

The statue turning invisible seems to be bug sorry- all of the rooms are self-contained -  you don't need to move a Statue out of the room it starts in.
Edit: This has now been fixed.
